Before playing Ultimate Tenkaichi, the other DBZ gamwes I owned and enjoyed were DBZ Budokai 3 (PS2) and Budokai Tenkaichi 3 (Also PS2)
I picked up Ultimate Tenkaichi recently and quiet honestly I'm really enjoying it. Sure the Story Mode isn't great, but I love the action in the fights. I will admit that some of the cinematics become quite samey after a while, I do really enjoy the break-neck Fast-pacedness of the gameplay. I love being able to switch between Melee and Blast Range. I also enjoy the ability to Guard, Dodge or Intercept, just as a Z Fighter would have to decide.
The music gets a bit annoying after a while so I turned it off. Did everyone hate this game or was it a mixed reactions? I'm not sure what to make of Xenoverse. I like the idea to create a fully customizable character but I'm not sure how I feel about alternate time-lines and stuff.
I also picked up Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z and can quite honestly say it's possibly the WORST Dragon Ball Z game I've ever played. Terrible fighting mechanics. Clunky and slow gameplay and terrible story mode. I don't want to fight Frieza with the help of Krillin and Gohan. They're nowhere near enough powerful to even touch him.
